- I know the difference between synchronous and asynchronous data
- transmission, but how does this apply to modems, in particular, V.34
- modems? For example, are modems either synchronous _or_ asynchronous,
- or can they put into either mode? How are they put into either mode?
- Does this have any effect on applications that use a modem other than
- the effective bit rate? Someone said that a modem being synchronous
- may mean that some processing is done outside of the modem such as
- MNP. Is this true? Is there anything online that describes this
- issue?
